United European Ballet Company New York Theatre reviews
Rod was outstanding, Stevie was depressing
Rod Stewart, a pro like only musicians on sax, violin, trumpet added a dimension of musicality know how to make so central to his show. What a show, would have loved more treasured songs, but what was there was great. Stevie Nicks is much better to see with Fleetwood Mac and Lindsay Buckingham, on her own she's a bit limp, tired, and depressing. Love her music, think she can corral a bit more spirit and pzazz to hold our attention, though. Would have liked an intro to her band members. Witchy thing is dusty and should be turned in for something new, don't know what, but something....
Weather and perfect breeze made it all the more fantastic. However, the video screens in United European Ballet Company's set don't display properly for everyone above the 2nd Promenade and I wondered if any of the crew went up there to check it out.
Too bad because the center screen only showed Rod from the waste down! I happen to enjoy his face, too! Hollywood Bowl was unforgiveably impossible, ran out of food and drink, roads were not navigable.
Rod Stewart sure knows how to do what he does, and amazingly well, will see him again and again. Crowds were too many...will look for a better venue that's a bit more civilized for the next outing!
